esde Single Screw Extruders

for many applications in extrusion lines particularly for producing pipes, profiles, films and sheets.  The latest modern extruder technology has been incorporated at a reasonable price.

Plasticizing Unit

The extruder has a grooved feed zone and a barrier screw with special mixing and homogenizing sections.  This concept has been successfully adapted also for machines with barrel venting.

System Description:

  • Constant pulsation free intake of compound
  • High plasticizing capacity and high throughput rates
  • Low shear plastification with minimal changes to material properties
  • Excellent melt homogeneity
  • Controlled melt temperature at a low temperature level
  • Even pressure profile along the screw leading therefore to reduced wear and low energy losses
  • Wide processing range for a wide spectrum of polymers and output rates using universal screws

High Efficiency –
Low Energy Consumption

The barrier screw technology in combination with shearing and deep-cut studded mixing sections achieves optimum energy consumption with very little need for barrel cooling.  The result is the effective use of drive energy and heating power.

Innovative Machine Design

esde single screw extruders are machines of compact design.  The machine housing is hermetically sealed and water cooled for optimum integration of the drive, the processing unit and the electrical equipment.

esde extruders are virtually maintenance-free.

Drive

The water-cooled high-torque motor, with integrated axial bearing, is a direct drive without a gearbox for all esde single screw extruders up to 70 mm screw diameter.  The larger extruders are equipped with innovative compact drives which each have four water-cooled AC-motors.

Melt Venting System

Extruders from 50 mm screw diameter can either be supplied with or without integrated vacuum system, thus achieving an excellent melt quality.

Output

Depending on the machine type and employed material esde single screw extruders achieve output rates of 1.5 to 1500 kg/hr.
