esde Twin Screw Extruder System

Because of its cascade design the esde twin screw extruder system is particularly suitable for manufacturing high-quality extruded products.

Due to two independent drives and processing steps the second processing stage can be fed with hot agglomerate or granules.  This method essentially reduces screw and barrel wear.

Requirements to output and melt quality can only be fulfilled by extruders with a sufficiently high L/D ratio and with an effective venting system. The esde twin screw extruder offers both criteria: a total screw length of 25 D (2 individually optimizable processing stages) for good overall processing and faultless working venting system having a large surface area and a long dwell time of the product.
The bi-conical screws – tempered with oil in the metering zone – allow homogenous material processing.  The use of the oil temperature unit – a company development – and the intensive barrel tempering guarantee a melt temperature distribution of ± 1°C in the inlet cross section of the die.

Innovative Processing Technique

The process engineering introduced by esde offers new ways in the field of twin screw extrusion.

Without the need to change any screws or cylinders it is possible to reliably process a wide range of different raw materials, such as rigid and flexible PVC, LDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, ABS, PA, PC, PPO, Barex and PET.  The pre-drying of the material can be eliminated altogether or significantly reduced.
