The processing thickness of film and sheets is controlled by the extrusion die gap. The adjustment of the restriction bar and the lower lip is important for a homogeneous material flow in the die. Both adjustments are carried out manually.

At esde we are striving to ensure that the extrusion die together with the polishing stack are adjusted precisely and above all – automatically.

For our customers this development means quite clearly a higher degree of safety and stability for their processes and also a higher product quality.

Because of the automatic adjustment of the sheet thickness during production, material loss is considerably reduced.

In this spirit Aristotle, as a visionary of automation, would probably be pleased with our innovation project. Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology we are developing a new operational concept for our extrusion lines. Our ambition is a fully automatic adjustment system for varying thicknesses of film and sheets, during the production.
